Project Description

TRC Tourism was engaged to develop a Business Case for the Emerald Creek Roadhouse to assist with attracting funding through the NT Roadhouse to Recovery grants program. TRC Tourism also provided expert assistance navigating the selection criteria, online application process and final submission. As a result, the Emerald Creek Roadhouse was successful in receiving $120,000 to improve their visitor experience for the self-drive market.

The owners were keen to grow the experience offered at the Roadhouse, encouraging self-drive visitors, tour operators and work travellers to stop, purchase a takeaway or sit down meal, take a drive break, or stay overnight to explore the surrounding region. The Business Case proposed installation of new family cabins (to attract families and group visitors to stay an extra night in the region), a children’s playground (to offer an enjoyable rest stop for families, with a place for children to play and parents to rest and enjoy a coffee or a meal), and a swimming pool (to provide a welcome and attractive respite in a destination known for tropical weather for customers and overnight visitors to refresh and revitalise before their onward journey).
