A specialist in outdoor-active, nature and trail-based tourism Chris has worked in the tourism sector for more than 19 years, advising government departments, tourism organisations, not-for-profits and operators.
Chris helps clients to better understand the growing outdoor-active tourism market and trail sector and create high quality, sustainable nature-based experiences. His experience covers trail concept and alignment development, trail auditing and geospatial data collection, strategic product and service development, market research and economic impact assessments, and events and media content production in relation to the outdoor active, adventure and trail sectors.
He has expertise in assessing tourism industry and market trends and opportunities, landscape and infrastructure suitability and working with clients to develop offerings that better appeal to the outdoor active and adventure markets. Most projects completed involve Indigenous Tourism consultation working with Traditional Owners on country to assist in co-designing cultural experiences set in wilderness environments.
Chris is also the owner/director of Tour de Trails, a specialist nature-based event production company and tour operator. In this role, Chris has produced events ranging from kids’ adventure festivals, mountain biking races, trail running events and off road multisport and duathlon events, to fly fishing festivals.
