Project Description
TRC was engaged by the East Gippsland Shire Council to undertake an updated assessment of possible routes for a shared commuter pathway between Bairnsdale and Paynesville. This work was built upon previous consultancy from 2010 and updated in-line with the Destination Gippsland Masterplan.
The assessment considered land tenure, trail alignment, infrastructure requirements, and appeal for both existing users and tourists to the area. TRC additionally outlined construction and maintenance costs and economic benefits for the East Gippsland Shire Council area.
Following this, TRC shortlisted two trail routes and recommended which would be most feasible.
