Project Description
An opportunity existed to develop a significant trail that would have the dual purpose of being a community asset connecting communities in the Strzelecki Ranges and foothills, and an important asset for the visitor economy of the region aligning to the directions of the recent Destination Management Plan for Gippsland and Gippsland Tracks and Trails Feasibility Study.
TRC was engaged to deliver a Business Case for the extension of the Grand Ridge Rail Trail from Boolarra to Yinnar, including recommendations on the initial steps for progressing the extension to Morwell.
The Business Case developed by TRC will provide Latrobe City Council and the Trail Committee with the necessary information on which to decide whether to continue with detailed planning and application for funding grants to continue the Trail’s development.
