Project Description
Yarra Ranges Shire Council was seeking to better understand the essential elements of a world-class trail destination and what the region needed to do to achieve its full potential as a mountain bike hub.
A key part of the question being asked was “why develop these trails in the national park?” and the project needed to demonstrate why the use of iconic natural landscapes are an essential component of trails experiences.
TRC reviewed best-practice approaches to mountain biking, particularly within a national park and natural landscape context in three phases: a literature review, case studies, and updated demand modelling.
