Project Description
TRC was engaged to conduct this assessment of the tourism potential and opportunities of the Hornsby Quarry and Hornsby Park site. The site was already undergoing re-shaping and stabilisation works to shape the new landform, provide a range of outdoor spaces suitable for a variety of activities and create a number of commercial opportunities.
Although huge potential existed for the site due to its location near densely populated urban areas, the mix of activities and supplementary experiences offered needed to be compelling enough to compete with other offerings around Sydney and be able to operate in such a way that multiple revenue streams would be generated to offset the ongoing operating costs of the site.
Adventure experiences, mountain biking and walking trails were some of the experiences assessed by TRC for market appeal and viability.
