Project Description
In August 2015 the Monaro Rail Trail Inc was established to pursue the feasibility of the recreational cycle trail being developed on the disused railway corridor between Queanbeyan and Bombala a distance 208km. TRC Tourism was commissioned to undertake a high-level pre-feasibility report to determine whether the concept warrants further research and assessment. TRC’s assessment identified that a well-planned and constructed trail along the alignment of the redundant rail way line would offer a great cycle tourism opportunity if the significant criteria was met.
