Project Description
In this project a team led by TRC assessed the feasibility and scope of the proposed Murujuga Living Knowledge Centre and Camping with Custodians campsite at Conzinc Bay on the Burrup Peninsula near Karratha, Western Australia. Previous feasibility and design work had been completed for a different site at Hearson Cove and TRC reviewed that earlier work.
The team analysed potential visitor markets for the Living Knowledge Centre and Camping with Custodians and worked with the Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation and the WA Department of Parks and Wildlife on assessing the planning and operating context for the proposals.
A Landscape Concept Plan was developed for proposals and a Business Case was developed in accordance with the Royalties for Regions funding program format. The project also involved capacity building in the areas of tourism and hospitality services.
