Project Description
Activate Tairāwhiti had identified the need for an objective assessment of how the region was currently responding to cruise ship visits, to identify the challenges and opportunities surrounding cruise, and have recommendations made for enhancements that would inform regional planning and coordination to optimise the future value of cruise ship visits.
A site visit was conducted to the region, and a range of regional and industry stakeholders were interviewed to contribute to the report. TRC identified a number of initiatives that would support improved positioning, planning, coordination and collaboration to ensure visitor satisfaction and improve the value from cruise ship visits to the region.
