Project Description
TRC was engaged by Trust Tairāwhiti to develop a Destination Management Plan (DMP) to guide the region to become a successful and sustainable visitor destination.
To achieve this, TRC conducted a pre-DMP planning session to set up the context and shared understanding of the process with staff and key partners to clarify expectations and understanding of purpose, process, context within existing work and strategies, intended outcomes, and approach to purposeful engagement.
The DMP process involved significant stakeholder engagement across the region, including partnership with five local iwi to co-design the Plan. TRC also worked alongside the Trust Tairāwhiti team on the development of both a leisure and business event strategy and a range of product development projects.
