Project Description

The Waltzing Matilda Centre was a vital part of the economy of the Winton Shire, as well as being an essential stop on the Outback Queensland tourism trail, before it was destroyed by fire in 2015. Winton Shire Council recognised the vital importance of re-establishing this key component of the local tourism infrastructure and invested with State and Federal Government to develop a new and exciting, architecturally designed, state of the art Centre that would provide an enhanced cultural, tourism and education asset for the community of Winton.

TRC were engaged to develop a Business Plan for operation of the Centre after its planned re-opening in 2018. The Business Plan guides the management, operations, finances, marketing and promotion of the centre for the next 3 years and capitalises on building synergies between the various tourism offerings, enhancing visitor experiences and ensuring improved return on both public and private investment throughout the region.
