Project Description
Tourism NT required a Concept Plan to be developed in consultation with the property owners, National Trust and local Marlinja community. The Concept Plan would progress recommendations made for Newcastle Waters in the recent Barkly Region Visitor Experiences Master Plan.
The Concept Plan reviewed the current visitor experience and proposed how this could be improved through a combination of site infrastructure and access improvements, interpretation, alternate use of buildings, experience delivery (e.g. by the Marlinja community), and other possibilities. It identified a staged approach to improving the overall visitor experience as well as recommendations for management.
