Project Description
TRC and Brave and Curious were engaged by the Department for Environment and Water to guide the development of visitor experiences at the Nilpena fossil site, within the Nilpena visitor precinct site consisting of heritage buildings associated with the Nilpena Pastoral operation, and the proposed Nilpena Ediacara National Park. Concept plans were required to guide the access, presentation and interpretation associated with the Nilpena entrance and welcome, the Nilpena Visitor Precinct and the Nilpena fossil site. The experience would present the evidence and narrative that enliven and enrich the Nilpena and Ediacara story, an would trace “The Dawn of Animal Life”.
This work would align with the South Australian Government’s recent proposal for selected parts of the Flinders Ranges to be inscribed as World Heritage. TRC had also recently prepared the Concept Plans for Arkaroola Protection Area and Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, also included within the World Heritage listing proposal for their unique offerings.
