Project Description
Cooma Chamber of Commerce (the Chamber) is the peak representative body for business across the Cooma region. The Chamber applied for funding through the Regional Growth Fund to complete a Strategic Plan for Cooma. The aim of the project was to plan for the future and achieve the best outcomes for Cooma businesses. Cooma was undergoing a period of change with the bushfires of early 2020, the coronavirus pandemic and the large infrastructure project Snowy 2.0 impacting businesses in the region in different ways.
TRC worked with the Chamber to develop a Plan which focused on promoting Cooma for industry and business, improving visitor and resident experiences and increasing visitors to Cooma and the surrounding region. The Plan’s objectives were developed through consultation with local businesses and the wider community.
