Project Description
TRC Tourism was engaged by Yumbah Aquaculture to assist with an innovative venture to enhance its presence on Kangaroo Island by creating a new visitor experience centred around sustainable abalone production. The project entailed the construction of a pavilion to host tours, cooking demonstrations, and retail sales. TRC Tourism, with its expertise in tourism infrastructure development, market analysis, and economic impact assessment, supported Yumbah Aquaculture in maximizing the project’s appeal to domestic and international tourists. Through collaboration with Cox Architecture, the project aimed to develop a concept tourism master plan for future expansion. The initiative aligns with broader objectives of promoting sustainable development and economic growth in the region. By diversifying Kangaroo Island’s tourism offerings and creating job opportunities, the project promises significant benefits for the local tourism industry and economy.
