The 2019 Bushfires ripped through the town of Mogo on New Year’s Eve and the days that followed. A total of 300 homes were destroyed in the town and surrounding suburbs. This morning we are absolutely delighted to hear the Mogo Adventure Trail Hub project has been awarded $3 million NSW Government funding through the Growing Local Economies Fund. Mogo desperately needs this boost to get their tourism industry back on track. Last year TRC was engaged to prepare the Mogo Adventure Hub Trail Strategy with the aim to best position the region as a premier adventure trail destination. The Strategy developed by TRC confirmed there was potential for growth through investment in trails in the Mogo State Forest and surrounding areas and trail-related services in Mogo village and the wider region. It was also recommended that Mogo’s potential could be further enhanced when clustered with other iconic regional products identified in the Eurobodalla Nature-based Tourism Feasibility Strategy. The NSW Government investment in this project will guarantee growth in outdoor active tourism and encourage the local community to be more active via better and more strategically planned usage of Mogo’s natural landscapes.
Congratulations Mogo, we can’t wait to ride the trails!
