TRC Tourism is currently working with West Coast Council to develop a Walks Strategy that will support community participation in sport and recreation opportunities along with the region’s appeal as a tourism destination. This work will help to guide the future development of walks and associated infrastructure on the West Coast. This week, TRC Tourism consultants Kain Gardner and Anna Baelz-Stead been visiting the West Coast region to conduct community workshops in Queenstown, Strahan and Tullah and seek local input on walking trails and priorities. They have also been visiting individual trails to immerse themselves in the West Coast walking visitor experience.
