The Oparara Arches has been identified as one of six icon visitor attractions to help create regional dispersal of visitors. Underway now is a feasibility study and business case for the proposed development of the Oparara Basin into a world class visitor experience.
Janet, Alistair and Tracy spent time exploring the limestone caves in the basin before meeting up with the community and regional stakeholders to discuss the future potential for the development of the Oparara Basin and associated opportunities for Karamea.
