The TRC lead project team worked with four regional tourism organisations and the Department of State Growth to develop the strategy, which will result in a new way to engage with visitors that is unique to Tasmania. “The Tasmanian Visitor Engagement Strategy – a first for Australia – sets out the guiding principles, elements and actions my government will undertake with industry to rethink and strengthen our approach to visitor engagement,” said the Premier. TRC lead a team which conducted extensive consultation with the tourism sector, all levels of government and visitors; and regional focus groups and two Think Tanks generated discussion around future trends and inspired innovative solutions. The strategy ensures that Tasmania’s way of engaging with visitors will evolve and adapt to ensure visitors are provided with the best travel experience while in Tasmania, and are inspired to share their experience after they leave.
