The TRC team spent time in the Northern Territory this week as the first stage of the development of the Barkly Regional Visitor Experiences Master Plan project.
The team of Janet Mackay, Alistair Henchman, Rick Murray and Tracey Diddams spent about ten days in the region, which covers a massive are of about 323,000km2, meeting with the tourism industry and communities and scoping the potential for new experiences.
The Barkly Regional Council is working in partnership with the Department of Tourism and Culture to develop the plan, which aims to maximise social and economic opportunities for new and existing tourism operators in the region and the Northern Territory tourism economy in general.
