TRC has been engaged by Toowoomba Regional Council to consider the future management arrangements for the historic Jondaryan Woolshed. The oldest operating woolshed in Australia, the woolshed also hosts community events and weddings. The grounds include a museum of agricultural machinery – much of which still operates – and buildings from across the local area once covered by the Jondaryan property. Since being gifted to the local community in 1974, the Woolshed complex has been through a number of governance iterations, with Council now owning the property as a community resource.
Alistair is consulting with a wide range of local people and volunteers involved in the place to understand its history and develop a model to allow the place to again become the vibrant heart of the community and a destination for visitors to the region.
