The TRC Tourism team has demonstrated clearly that it lives its sustainability values by hitting its Ecotourism Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard out of the park.
We are all particularly excited about our 100% score for Cultural Impacts, which has been achieved through our industry-leading work supporting Aboriginal communities to develop community-led solutions.
The perfect score also reflects the high proportion of our team who have completed the AIATSIS (Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies) Core Cultural Learning program.
We also achieved a score of 96% for Sustainable Management, 90% for Socio-Economic Impacts and 88% for Environmental Impacts for an overall score of 93%.
TRC Tourism jumped on board immediately to support Ecotourism’s Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard when it was launched last year, as a way of measuring our success in upholding one of our strongest values.
And we’ll use the results of our assessment to home in on areas that we can improve, because as we know, the sustainability journey is never finished. There is always more we can be doing.
